AWAKEN TO SELF-MASTERY: 2014 Winter Solstice and New Moon in Capricorn

AWAKEN TO SELF-MASTERY

Today is the 2014 WINTER SOLSTICE, the NEW MOON IN CAPRICORN, and the commencement of forward motion with planet URANUS. This is a rare and powerful combination!

WINTER SOLSTICE

In the WHEEL OF THE YEAR, the Winter Solstice is the time of greatest darkness and yet also the point when the light begins to return to the world.

In the WHEEL OF THE SOUL, the Winter Solstice is the time of full embodiment of consciousness.

Mythologically, the Winter Solstice is the time of the incarnation of the CHILD OF LIGHT.

NEW MOON

The NEW MOON is the time when the Sun (masculine expression) and Moon (feminine reception) conjoin.

The Moon receives her light from the radiance of the Sun, and gives back life. The Moon’s pull on the Earth creates tides, which facilitated genesis of the components of life as well as the evolution of life.

This is a time of SPIRITUAL CONCEPTION.

CAPRICORN

The Winter Solstice always occurs when the Sun reaches zero degrees of Capricorn. This Winter Solstice is special because the Moon is also at zero degrees of Capricorn.

Capricorn is the sign of hard work and diligence that leads to SELF-MASTERY.

URANUS STATIONING DIRECT

Uranus is also ending its retrograde motion (stationing direct) today.

Uranus is called the “GREAT AWAKENER”. Uranus is associated with the the High Self, or HOLY GUARDIAN ANGEL. Uranus spends seven years in each sign, and therefore carries the energy of the octave and continually seeks to bring in a higher vibrational frequency.

When Uranus is retrograde, the revelation tends to be directed inward, like a GESTATION. When Uranus stations direct then it is a time of DELIVERY, or manifestation, of that revelation. When Uranus begins moving forward then the world is given the revelation as a PRESENTATION.

LUCID DREAM ANALOGY

What does it mean that all of these astrological aspects are happening at the same time?

Imagine dreaming, and then realizing that you are dreaming. You suddenly become aware of your true nature and see through the the fantasy of your dreamscape. You no longer identify with the fictional persona of your dream self.

Similarly, it is possible at any moment during your waking life disentangle from the illusion of the world. The ego is a temporary persona that you have created to serve as a vehicle for your soul growth in this lifetime. It is transitory. What is important is the soul growth. Intense challenges prepare the ego to serve as a vehicle for our TRUE SELF.

Even during a time of great unconsciousness, we can suddenly attain ENLIGHTENMENT.

DIAMOND ANALOGY

Coal and diamond are both made up entirely of carbon atoms.

A lump of coal is coarse and unrefined. When placed under tremendous pressure for long periods of time the carbon atoms within coal may realign into a diamond.

The ego is prepared through the challenges of life to receive INNER ILLUMINATION.

OUTWARD MANIFESTATION

These transits undoubtedly reflect the current crises we are witnessing around the world, as well as the opportunities presented by those crises.

Capricorn is associated with the ESTABLISHMENT. Major shifts are needed within banks, corporations, religious groups, and governments. By the time Pluto enters Aquarius in 2024, we will see those shifts. First we must break down the outworn and outdated forms before new forms can be manifested to hold humanity’s RISING CONSCIOUSNESS.

Health Crisis or Health Revolution?

Will the astrological transits in December bring a HEALTH CRISIS or HEALTH REVOLUTION, or both?

HYGEIA, GODDESS OF HEALTH, is strongly aspected by both Pluto and Uranus from December 10 to December 14, 2014.

Between 12/10 and 12/14, Hygeia will be directly opposing Pluto. The last time that Hygeia was in direct opposition with Pluto was on the Fall Equinox (9/22/2014). I suggest that readers review the post that I made on at that time before continuing:

FALL EQUINOX AND NEW MOON IN LIBRA

I predicted that there might be some sort of turn around with the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. I hoped that it would be a positive shift. However, I feared this epidemic might worsen and possibly spread.

The day after my post, on the Fall Equinox, a ban on travel was lifted in Sierra Leone in an attempt to get health professionals into the area worst stricken to provide assistance as well as to remove dead bodies from homes. The disease continued to spread in Sierra Leone and also extended to new areas.

Between 12/10 and 12/14, Hygeia will also be directly squaring Uranus. This aspect was not in place during the September 2014 Hygeia-Pluto opposition. This addition could change the energy significantly, for the worse or for the better.

What does all this mean in layman’s terms?

Pluto relates to regeneration, renewal, and revolution. Uranus relates to innovation, especially in the area of science. With Hygeia aspecting these planets, I see the potential for major HEALTH / MEDICAL BREAKTHROUGHS.

Pluto also relates to degeneration and death. Uranus also relates to sudden, unexpected events such as accidents. With Hygeia aspecting these planets, I see the potential for a major HEALTH CRISIS. This could be due to disease, natural disaster, or a corporate accident that leads to environmental threat/damage.

Uranus and Pluto both correlate with nuclear energy (e.g. Uranium and Plutonium). I pray that there is not another NUCLEAR DISASTER, as with the correspondence between Uranus moving into Aries and the Fukushima indecent.

What might this mean on a personal level?

A significant HEALTH SHIFT might occur during this time period. Again, this could be to the benefit or to the detriment of the individual.

The chances are greater that this transit will impact an individual if he or she has anything at 12 degrees of any sign. This is because the Hygeia-Pluto-Uranus T-Square will occur at 12 degrees of three of the cardinal signs (Cancer, Capricorn, and Aries).

The astrological house that these transits fall into also will reflect the outcome for the individual.

A beneficial way to channel this energy is to CLEANSE and DETOXIFY the body, soul, mind, and spirit. PURGE anything in your life that no longer serves your highest good.

Fall Equinox and New Moon in Libra

The Fall Equinox is Monday, September 22, 2014. This is the point in the year when day and night BALANCE. After today the scale is tipped. The days will gradually shorten and the nights will commensurately lengthen.

The Sun is currently in Virgo, which is a sign that relates to attention needing to be given to PURIFICATION and HEALTH.

PLUTO has been moving retrograde and turns around (stations direct) tonight. Pluto will be at 11 degrees of CAPRICORN.

HYGEIA, the goddess of health, will be at 11 degrees of CANCER. Therefore these two forces will directly oppose each other.

Pluto governs the process of elimination. Capricorn rules the KNEES, JOINTS, TEETH, BONES and SKELETAL STRUCTURE.

Cancer rules the most feminine parts of the body, including the BREASTS, OVARIES, AND UTERUS. Cancer also governs the DIGESTIVE SYSTEM and LYMPHATIC SYSTEM.

This opposition indicates a need for REGENERATION and HEALTH RENEWAL.

Pluto is related to the element of FIRE. The Tarot Trump for Pluto is THE LAST JUDGMENT. A symbol of Pluto is the phoenix, a mythical creature that DIES IN FLAMES AND IS REBORN FROM ITS ASHES. CHIRON: CONNECTING OUR HIGHER AND LOWER NATURES

Chiron and Uranus are currently aspecting each other. This began on August 27, 2014 and will continue through September 15, 2014. Many will find this astrological transit challenging until they begin to work with it’s ENERGETIC POTENTIAL.
URANUS: THE LIGHTNING FLASH
Uranus is a LIGHTNING FLASH that raises our vibrational level to the next octave. The astrological glyph for Uranus resembles an ANTENNA and, in truth, it is exactly that. It is our link with our TRUE WILL, or SPIRITUAL DESTINY.
An antenna is a good analogy because Uranus also relates to all forms of TECHNOLOGY. In particular, Uranus is associated with anything that broadcasts INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTIONS out to the GROUP MIND or facilitates the reception of information by the individual from the collective. The INTERNET is a perfect example.
The Tarot Trump for Uranus is THE FOOL. Many versions of this card depict a youth about to step off a cliff. Uranus is associated with precipitous types of events, as in stepping into a PRECIPICE.
When Uranus is involved, expect the UNEXPECTED! Be open to synchronistic types of experiences and spontaneous change. At times these sudden events can be traumatizing. Be wary of ACCIDENTS!
Ultimately, Uranus strives to put us back into DIVINE ALIGNMENT. The more we cooperate with this process the easier it will be. CHIRON: THE MENTOR
Chiron orbits between Uranus and Saturn, which connects our HIGHER NATURE and LOWER NATURE. Chiron lifts the primitive instincts that drive us towards more spiritual aspirations, as well as brings the divine impulse down and grounds it out in the material world. In mythology, Chiron was a mentor. He taught youth how to connect with their True Will and sent them on a MYTHIC JOURNEY.
This is a great time to seek out a guru, teacher, higher education or any other type of instruction. Set an intention to connect with HIGHER TRUTH.
CHIRON: THE WOUNDED-HEALER
Chiron is a CENTAUR, half man and half horse. The horse portion symbolizes the HORIZONTAL ALIGNMENT, which is the vehicle that carries us through the world. The human portion symbolizes the VERTICAL ALIGNMENT, which is our connection back to SOURCE.
In mythology, Chiron was WOUNDED on his leg. In astrology, Chiron represents a wound to the horizontal alignment, vehicle that carries us through the world, or lower nature.
Watch for physical issues, especially in the lower half of the body. Wounds might also surface from below in terms of issues surfacing from the SUBCONSCIOUS. HYPNOTHERAPY or NEUROLINGUISTIC PROGRAMING (NLP) might be helpful. Also consider therapies such as EDMR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), INNER CHILD RESCUE, SHAMANIC SOUL RESCUE, BACH FLOWER REMEDIES, and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).
The horizontal alignment and VEHICLE that carries us through the world could also be some other form of transport besides our body. Check the alignment on your car so the tires do not wear unnecessarily. Watch for nails, glass or anything that could cause a flat. Keep the engine tuned.
Pay closer attention to how you FUEL your body and well as your other vehicles. Eat healthy and maybe use a higher quality of gasoline temporarily.

Pisces Full Moon 2014

This PISCES FULL MOON will also be both a SuperMoon and a Harvest Moon.
Astrologically speaking, the Moon is full when it is directly OPPOSITE the Sun. The Sun is currently in Virgo. Pisces is the balancing sign of Virgo on the Wheel of the Zodiac. They each contain the essence of the other. This is reflected by the symbol of Pisces, which is two fish swimming in opposite directions. One might compare this to the Yin-Yang symbol where the black fish has a white eye and the white fish has a black eye.
Virgo energy relates to SACRED SERVICE. This might involve taking care of those that cannot care for themselves, including plants and animals, and healing practices. Virgo tend to “NEED TO BE NEEDED”. Virgo is the sign of the DISCIPLE that seeks to perfect himself or herself. The Tarot Trump for Virgo is The Hermit.
Pisces energy relates to SELF-SACRIFICE. This might involve surrender of self for the sake of others. The challenge is to render UNCONDITIONAL LOVE without sacrificing ones own needs to the extent that there is a feeling of victimization. Pisces is the sign of SPIRITUAL RETREAT. On the Pisces Full Moon the similarities and differences between Pisces and Virgo are HIGHLIGHTED.

The Moon will be at its closest approach to the Earth, or pedigree, on this full moon. When this happens, it is called a SUPERMOON. This is the third month in a row (July, August and September) this year that this has occurred.

What is a SOUL MATE?
A Soul Mate is any person with whom you will experience the most SOUL GROWTH. It may not be only one special person and “happily ever after”. Often these relationships are challenging and there are more than one in a given lifetime.
The current soul challenge is to see the PERFECTION within all our relationships, even the most painful and challenging of them.
Ceres, Vesta, Saturn and Mars are all currently in SCORPIO. This indicates that many of our opportunities for soul growth at present will center around the following key words: SEXUALITY, ENERGETIC EXCHANGE, SHARED RESOURCES, OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY, ACCEPTANCE OF IMPERMANENCE, NON-ATTACHMENT, TRANSFORMATION, CHANGE, CRISIS, SURVIVAL, POWER STRUGGLES and EXTREMISM (ALL OR NOTHING / BLACK AND WHITE / LIFE AND DEATH).
SACRED MARRIAGE
What is SACRED MARRIAGE, or SACRED PARTNERSHIP?
A Sacred Marriage or Partnership depends upon seeing the Divinity (TRUE SELF) within, as well as in our partner.
Another GRAND-TRINE has formed between aspects in the WATER SIGNS.
Recently, Hygeia (Goddess of Health) met up with Juno (Goddess of Marriage). This indicated opportunities to improve the HEALTH OF RELATIONSHIPS, especially marital and sexual relationships. Because both these asteroids were in Cancer, this extended to the welfare of the HOME AND FAMILY.
The game has changed, slightly, now. Juno is still a key player. She is now at 15 degrees of Cancer.
Vesta (Goddess of SACRED SPACE) is now at 15 degrees of Scorpio. Together these add up to Sacred Marriage, or Sacred Partnership. What is it that you need to HOLD SPACE for in your current relationship, or prior relationships, in order for you to clearly see the SPIRITUAL LESSONS offered?
HEALING THE PAST
Chiron (archetype of the WOUNDED-HEALER) at 15 degrees of Pisces (the past) is the third leg of this grand-trine. What wounds are you holding on to from previous relationships? How are those wounds holding you in the past? How are they taking energy away from your current relationship, or even preventing you from taking the emotional risk of loving again?
Chiron also symbolizes the connection between our HIGHER NATURE and LOWER NATURE, or our spiritual connection to SOURCE and the VEHICLE that carries through the world. This could relate literally to issues with transportation. It could also relate to your body. The essence of Chiron in Pisces is the process of lifting wounds from our Lower Heart (SUFFERING, SELF-PITY and RESENTMENT) to our Higher Heart (UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, COMPASSION and FORGIVENESS). How are the wounds that you hold onto manifesting in your body, or vehicle?
ALTERNATIVE MARRIAGE
On Sunday, September 7, 2014 the Sun moves up to 15 degrees of Virgo, The Virgin, who strives for PERFECTION and yet often sees only IMPERFECTION. The Sun will directly oppose Chiron at 15 degrees of Pisces. This will further HIGHLIGHT WOUNDS. People may have a tendency to be self-sacrificing, and this could lead to feelings of VICTIMIZATION or martyrdom.
This will form another Yod, or “FINGER OF GOD”, pointing directly to Uranus from Juno and the Sun. Key words for Uranus include: NON-CONFORMIST, UNCONVENTIONAL and ALTERNATIVE. An example might be POLYAMORY, “many loves”.
Uranus rules Aquarius. Ganymede was a perfect mortal male youth who was abducted and ravished by Zeus, also known as Jupiter. This is obviously a story of HOMOSEXUAL LOVE.
Ganymede was made the Cup-Bearer of Zeus, and set in the heavens as the constellation Aquarius. We are now moving into the Age of Aquarius. One of the primary challenges is this New Aeon is to protect basic human rights and establish equality as INDIVIDUALS.
Juno was extremely jealous of the love-affair of Zeus, her husband, with Ganymede. Her anger contributed to the commencement of the Trojan War and the eventual destruction of the City of Troy. Juno’s involvement in this Yod to Uranus could be volatile.
Pallas Athena is involved in a tug-of-war with Astraea. In astrology, Pallas Athena is called the “Gender Bender”. She represents a MASCULINIZED FEMININE and, potentially, Lesbianism. Other key words for Pallas Athena include: POLITICS and CONFLICT-RESOLUTION.
Key words for Astraea include: JUSTICE, FAIRNESS, HARMONY, and the REFUSAL TO GIVE UP or surrender.
Together these all reflect the current debate regarding the perfection, or imperfection, ALTERNATIVE PARTNERSHIP.
LEAVING BEHIND WOUNDS
On Monday, September 8, 2014 Vesta and Juno move up to 16 degrees. Chiron is left behind at 15 degrees. This could be an opportunity to LEAVE WOUNDS BEHIND.
The Sun moves up to 16 degrees of Virgo and will oppose the Moon at 16 degrees of Pisces. This is the PISCES FULL MOON.
The realization that needs to be made is that everything is always PERFECT AS IT HAPPENS. We CANNOT CHANGE THE PAST. As long as we desire the past to be different then it was then it is disempowering. It upsets our INNER SCALES where we compare what life presented with what we desired.
Dwelling on the past or worrying about the future takes energy from the PRESENT. Reframing the past can be healing. visualizing the future that you want to create can be useful. However, everything happens in the NOW.

BURNING MAN: ARE YOU BURNING?

Recent news events have included some dramatic events:

What do all these events have in common? They all reflect current astrological transits!
Saturn and Mars have joined each other in the sky. Saturn is associated with the element of Earth which, in turn, connects with heaviness, limitation and restriction. Mars is associated with fire which, in turn, connects with energy, drive and passion. Together they form a CONTROLLED BURN.
Saturn and Mars are both in SCORPIO. The last time these two planets joined each other in this sign was 1984.
Scorpio relates to shared resources, energetic exchange, and SEXUALITY. Many individuals will experience challenges in these areas.
Scorpio symbolizes forces hidden in the underworld that need to be brought to the surface for RENEWAL and regeneration. Scorpio is the KUNDALINI SERPENT of sexual life-force. In order to connect with this energy we often undergo a DEATH and REBIRTH process, literally or metaphorically.
In the old pagan calendar there was a celebration called Lammas Day, or Lughnasadh (Loo-Nah-Sah) in commemoration of The Celtic Sun God Lugh. This was a preparation for the harvest season. One of the ritual activities was the burning of a WICKER MAN.
We are all being provided opportunities to burn through what no longer serves us to PREPARE FOR NEW GROWTH.
Saturn and Mars in Scorpio are forming a grand-trine with aspects in the two other Water Signs. Juno (goddess of marriage) and Hygeia (goddess of health) are together in the sign of Cancer (home and family). This indicates opportunities for HEALING IN RELATIONSHIP, especially as it relates to HOME and FAMILY.
The third point of this grand-trine is a Neptune in Pisces. Neptune rules Pisces and so this energy is especially pronounced. Neptune and Pisces both relate to SELF-SACRIFICE that comes out of unconditional love. This self-sacrifice can also turn into feelings of VICTIMIZATION and resentment, though, if the self-sacrifice continues into martyrdom. It is important to pay attention to your own needs, even while attempting to “hold space” for someone else’s needs.
Chiron is also in Pisces, close to Neptune. Chiron represents the archetype of the WOUNDED HEALER that lifts their own wounds from the LOWER HEART of the ego to the compassionate HIGHER HEART of the True Self. This allows our pain to serve as an opportunity for soul growth.
Opposing Neptune in Pisces is the New Moon (Sun and Moon together) in Virgo. This is an opportunity for NEW BEGINNINGS. At the same time, there is a tendency to be overly CRITICAL. The best use of this energy would be to become metaphorically “VIRGINAL” in order to meet needs for INTEGRITY and HEALTHY BOUNDARIES while simultaneously balancing the PERFECTIONISTIC focus on minutia with the UNCONDITIONAL LOVE of Neptune in Pisces.
Uranus is at the apex of a Yod, or “FINGER OF GOD”, which is an astrological aspect that indicates it is a focal point. Uranus is in the sign of Aries. The Sun and Moon will both be in Leo. There will be a powerful potential for new beginnings. Plant the seeds of light and love in your subconscious. These seeds might not come to fruition until the full moon, though.
